From Media Audience to Critical Citizen: Media Evolution, Psychological Vulnerability and the Crisis of Information Trust in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Media evolution, misinformation, deepfakes and information responsibility
A contemporary 2026 conceptual scholarly paper examining why information abundance does not ensure reliable understanding. Integrating media theory with research on cognitive biases, repetition, deepfake detection and generative AI, it explores how beliefs are formed and why verification cannot rest exclusively on individual audiences. The author develops a five-dimensional educational framework and discusses the unequal burden of information verification and editorial responsibility. The paper is not an empirical study or a peer-reviewed journal article.
