An expanded 2026 conceptual–practical working paper revisiting a classroom lesson devised in 2012. The paper links emotion recognition with communication, peer relationships, social-information processing and practical participation through picture stories, cooperative role-play and simulated shopping. It also considers loneliness, short-form social media and conversational AI, distinguishing established research from professional observations and open questions. It does not report an empirical trial or establish intervention effectiveness.
